Poinsettias from the Madonna council of catholic women

Christmas is that special time of the year when we remember our loved ones --those who are with us and those who have departed our world to be with the Lord.

As in past years, St. Thomas More Madonna CCW is again sponsoring poinsettias that will adorn our church during this holiday season -- each plant representing a deceased loved one. The name of your loved ones will be placed on a scroll and they will be remembered at all Masses during the Christmas season.

To reserve Christmas poinsettias, please click here for download the form and fill out the form and return with your donation of $15.00 per plant for each loved one.

Please note that the numbers of poinsettias is limited, so be sure to order early!

Deadline is December 17, 2009

Farewell Address To the Corps of Cadets at West Point, May 12, 1962:
Their story is known to all of you. It is the story of the American man at arms. My estimate of him was formed on the battlefields many, many years ago, and has never changed. I regarded him then, as I regard him now, as one of the world's noblest figures; not only as one of the finest military characters, but also as one of the most stainless…His name and fame are the birthright of every American citizen. In his youth and strength, his love and loyalty, he gave all that mortality can give.

Car raffle for church renovation

We are so grateful to God and to our parishioners for the beauty and reverence of the St. Thomas More Daily Mass Chapel. It is time to do the same for our Main Church and remove the worn out carpet and pew fabric.

We will raffle a new car and dedicate all of the proceeds to the beautification of our beloved sanctuary church.

Some of you may wish to memorialize a loved one by donating a pew.

Soon our plans will be finalized, and we will announce every detail.

Sanctuary Lamp

The Sanctuary Lamp burns in memory of
+ MOTHER JOSEPHINE CZESAK

Fondly claimed as “Grandma” and “Mom” by the priests and parishioners of St. Thomas More, Josephine went to the Lord in the company of her loving family at the home of Debbie and Joseph Washington.

Dear to her prayers are the Blessed Mother Mary and her Polish Son, the late Pope John Paul II, whose images adorned her room. Here among her precious keepsakes she whispered her love and blessings, then quietly met her Lord. She leaves an imperishable example of faithfulness and loyal friendship to all of us who shared the joy of her life. Requiscat in Pace from your grateful priests.

St. Thomas More Youth Retreat

To be Daniel is to be young, committed, unafraid and unswayed by the enticements of the easy way and the quick fix.

In his mid-teens, Daniel is carried off into a far country with strange customs. There he is successful, envied, targeted, trapped and thrown into the Lion’s Den. God delivers Daniel and exalts him so that he becomes a blessing to all, even to those who threw him to the beasts.

Daniel’s story is our story; what occurred in his young life happens daily in the lives of our youth. They need God, the firmfooting of Faith and our support to have successful, joyful and exciting lives. Help them now and they’ll bless us later. - Rev. Julian P. Harris

Pastor Harris’ words remind us of the challenges our young people face every day and of the importance of giving them the spiritual armor to meet and conquer every challenge on the way to maturity and blessing.
